Project Fulbe is the name of the partnership Mt. Rachel Baptist Church has created with three Senagalese villages in Senegal West Africa. Fulbe is the name of the people group that comprises these villages. Cattle are the most prized possession of the Fulbe people, many of whom are nomads. There are few Christian believers among the 2.75 million Fulbe in West Africa; most are Muslims. Of the West African people groups, the Fulbe have been one of the most responsive to the gospel, and several have accepted Christ as their Savior. Learn more about the Fulbe by clicking HERE.
Mt. Rachel works alongside missionary teams of the International Mission Board and the Mission GoorGoorlu to advance evangelism among the people groups of these three villages. As a result of Project Fulbe, we have committed to making regular visits to these villages, and we have gotten involved at every level. Even those who do not go in person commit to interceding in prayer for the Fulbe and for the traveling teams.
Mt. Rachel wanted more than just another mission trip. We wanted to be strategic in making an impact for the kingdom of God. We wanted to work where and with whom God had planned for us to work and we wanted to create meaningful and lasting relationships along the way.
Our next Mission trip to West Africa is June 28, 2010 — July 6, 2010
Training will begin on February 14, 2010 at 4:30p.m.
